Mining sites use shipping containers as durable, portable solutions for storage, workshops, and site offices in remote or harsh environments. Their strong steel construction ensures secure protection for tools, equipment, and valuable materials on-site. Multiple containers can serve as hubs for your team to meet and access supplies.
Modern farming environments use shipping containers for secure storage of tools, machinery, and supplies, protecting them from weather and theft. They’re also repurposed as portable offices, refrigerated units, or even vertical farms to support modern farming operations. They are ideal for remote locations around a farm property, with vehicle access.
Retail businesses use shipping containers for convenient, on-site storage of excess inventory, seasonal stock, and promotional materials. Their portability and security make them an affordable, weatherproof solution for managing fluctuating storage needs. Swap out your leased container with smaller or larger containers as your needs change.
The construction sector uses shipping containers as portable site offices, tool sheds, and secure storage for materials and equipment. Their durability and mobility make them ideal for temporary setups on changing job sites. Lease a container on a project by project basis.
A general purpose shipping container, also known as a dry container, is a fully enclosed steel unit designed to transport and store standard cargo. It’s weatherproof, secure, and suitable for most goods that don’t require temperature control or special handling.
The main difference between a GP (General Purpose) and an HC (High Cube) shipping container is height. An HC container is about 300 mm taller than GP Container. This extra space makes High Cube containers ideal for bulky or oversized cargo that doesn’t fit in a standard container.
GP stands for General Purpose, referring to a standard, all-purpose shipping container suitable for most types of cargo. HQ, short for High Cube (sometimes called High Container or High Cubic), is a taller version of the same container type. For example, both 40GP and 40HQ containers share the same length and width, but the 40HQ offers extra height for increased storage capacity.
The three main types of shipping containers are General Purpose (GP), High Cube (HC), and Refrigerated (Reefer) containers. GP containers are used for standard cargo, HC containers offer extra height for larger goods, and Reefers are temperature-controlled for perishable items.
